Five 3 Gallery is an art advisory and contemporary art gallery helping collectors, homeowners, interior designers, and businesses discover, acquire, commission, and curate artwork by established and emerging artists.

Founded by art advisor and curator Brigette Oberg, Five 3 Gallery works with emerging and established artists to connect clients with artwork that feels personal, meaningful, and right for their space.

Whether you are buying your first original artwork, searching for a statement piece for your home, sourcing artwork for an interior design project, or building a collection over time, our approach is personal, approachable, and tailored to your goals.

What does an art advisor do?

An art advisor helps clients navigate the process of discovering, evaluating, and acquiring artwork.

At Five 3 Gallery, we begin by understanding your taste, space, budget, and goals. From there, we research and curate a personalized selection of artwork for you to consider.

We can help you find one exceptional piece, build a collection over time, source artwork for an entire home or commercial project, or facilitate a custom commission with the right artist.

You do not need to be an experienced collector to work with an art advisor. Many of our clients come to us because they love art but feel overwhelmed by where to begin.

Our job is to make the process more personal, informed, and enjoyable.

Do I need to be an experienced collector to work with Five 3 Gallery?

Not at all.

Some of our clients are experienced collectors, while others are purchasing their first original artwork.

We believe collecting art should feel exciting, not intimidating. Our role is to help you understand your options, discover artists you may not have found on your own, and make thoughtful decisions with greater knowledge and confidence.

A meaningful collection does not have to begin with a huge budget. It begins with understanding what you respond to and learning how to buy intentionally.

How does the art advisory process work?

Every project begins with a conversation.

We take the time to understand your personal taste, the space you are working with, your approximate budget, and what you hope to achieve.

Depending on the project, we may review photographs, floor plans, dimensions, interior design concepts, color palettes, existing artwork, and other visual references.

From there, we research and curate a personalized selection of artwork for you to consider. We can also assist with custom commissions, artist communication, framing considerations, shipping, and installation coordination when needed.

Our goal is to simplify the process while helping you build a collection that feels personal to you.

Can you help me buy my first piece of original art?

Yes. We love working with new collectors.

You do not need to understand the art market, know art terminology, or have a perfectly defined personal style before getting started.

We help you identify what you are naturally drawn to, understand the differences between artists and types of artwork, establish a comfortable budget, and find pieces that you will be excited to live with.

Our goal is to help you make an informed decision without taking the emotion and excitement out of collecting.

Can you help me build an entire art collection?

Yes.

Five 3 Gallery works with collectors who want to build a thoughtful collection over time rather than simply purchase individual pieces without a larger vision.

We consider your personal taste, existing artwork, architecture, interiors, budget, and long-term collecting goals.

The objective is not for every piece in a collection to match. The strongest collections develop a point of view and tell the story of the person who built them.

Do you work with interior designers?

Yes. Working with interior designers is an important part of our advisory practice.

We act as an art sourcing partner, helping designers discover original artwork that complements the design narrative while reflecting the personality of their client.

We can curate artwork based on dimensions, scale, palette, medium, style, budget, and installation requirements. We can also facilitate custom commissions when a project requires a particular size or direction.

Our goal is to make the art sourcing process easier for designers while ensuring the artwork feels intentional within the finished space.

Can you source artwork that is not currently on your website?

Yes.

Our website represents a selection of the artists and artwork available through Five 3 Gallery, but it is only a starting point.

Through our relationships with artists and our broader art-world network, we can research additional works, request available inventory, and source artwork based on the specific needs of a collector or design project.

If you have a particular artist, style, medium, size, or budget in mind, we can conduct a personalized search on your behalf.

Can you help with custom artwork commissions?

Yes.

Five 3 Gallery helps collectors, interior designers, and businesses commission original artwork.

The process begins with identifying the right artist for the project and establishing the desired scale, general direction, palette, timeline, and budget.

We then help manage communication between the client and artist while respecting the artist’s creative process.

We believe the most successful commissions feel deeply personal to the collector while still remaining authentically the work of the artist they chose.

Do you work with businesses, hotels, and commercial spaces?

Yes.

Five 3 Gallery works with residential and commercial clients and can source and curate artwork for offices, hospitality spaces, restaurants, public-facing environments, and other commercial interiors.

Our services can range from sourcing a single statement piece to developing a broader art program for an entire space.

We work with each project individually to understand the environment, audience, design direction, budget, and goals for the collection.

What is the difference between original art and a limited-edition print?

An original artwork is a unique, one-of-one work.

A limited-edition print is created in a predetermined quantity and is typically numbered and often signed by the artist. Depending on the artist, edition size, printing process, publisher, provenance, and market demand, limited editions can also be highly collectible.

A mass-produced reproduction is different from both.

Not all prints are created equal, and a signature alone does not automatically make a print valuable. Before purchasing, it is important to understand exactly what you are buying.

How much should I spend on art?

There is no single correct amount to spend on art.

Your budget should reflect your financial comfort level, the scope of your project, and your collecting goals.

Some collectors begin with one carefully chosen piece and build their collection slowly. Others establish an annual acquisition budget or create a budget for an entire home or design project.

We help clients understand what is available within their budget and how to allocate it thoughtfully.

Is art a good investment?

Art can appreciate in value, but not every artwork will, and no one can guarantee a financial return.

How do I know if an artwork is fairly priced?

Art pricing can be influenced by many factors, including the artist’s career stage, exhibition history, sales history, medium, scale, rarity, provenance, and demand.

Part of the value of working with an art advisor is having someone help you understand the context surrounding a work and ask the right questions before making a purchase.

Transparency and education are an important part of our advisory process, especially for new collectors who want to better understand how the art market works.

Do you work with emerging artists?

Yes.

Five 3 Gallery works with both emerging and established artists across painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, and other contemporary practices.

We believe discovering artists is one of the most exciting parts of collecting.

Our role is to introduce collectors to compelling work, share the story and context behind it, and help them make informed decisions about what belongs in their collection.

Do you work with clients outside Orange County?

Yes.

Five 3 Gallery is based in Southern California and works with collectors, interior designers, and businesses both locally and remotely.

Our advisory process allows us to curate and source artwork for clients regardless of location.

For local projects throughout Orange County, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, and the surrounding Southern California area, we can also work closely with the physical space, design team, and installation requirements when needed.
